VIII. BODRUM RACE WEEK NOTICE OF RACE 18-24 OCTOBER 1. RULES 1.1 The races will be governed by the ISAF 2009-2012 “Racing Rules of Sailing”, IRC Measurement Guidelines, TYF General Race Instructions 2009-2012 – Sailing Race and Sailing Refree Regulations, Sportsman Licence, Registration, Discipline Regulations, Race Declaration, Race and Sailing Instructions and additional sailing instructions and its amendments. If there is a conflict between the The Notice of Race, The Sailing Instructions, the latter text will take precedence. 1.2. During the race an international jury will be on charge and their decisions are not subject to appeal. 2.RACE CATEGORY ISAF 2009-2012 “ISAF Offshore Special Regulations” category 4. 3. THE CLASSES IN THE RACE 3.1. Yachts with a valid IRC certificate may participate. The races will be held in three divisions, IRC, IRC Charter and IRC Duo. 3.2. Obligations and Restrictions for IRC Charter division; 3.2.a. A charter contract valid for the period of the race shall be submitted with the entry form. This contract should be issued to the name of the skipper or a crew member of the yacht aprticipating in the series. 3.2.b. No sails and spinnakers shall be used other than the ones charter company has provided and declared on the valid IRC certificate. The hi-tech fabric sails (Kevlar, mylar etc.) can not be used. All standard charter equipment (safety equipment, ropes, spare fuel jerry cans, galley equipment, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, etc.) shall be carried on board during the races. 3.2.c. The Charter yachts may apply to race in the “IRC” divisions if they chose to, but non-charter yachts cannot race in the IRC Charter division. Charter yachts can also race in the IRC Duo division, as long as they meet the requirements of that division. 3.3. Obligations and Restrictions for IRC Duo division, 3.3.a. Only two crew can race on each yacht. 3.3.b. Yachts chosing not to use spinnaker during series should declare so at the time of registry, in which case “No Spinnake TCC” will be used. “Short handed certificate” value cannot be used. 4. REGÝSTRY Eligible yachts may register by completing and signing the registry form, submit a copy of their valid IRC certificate, advertising certificate if any, insurance policy and pay the applicable fee, to BAYK office by Sunday, 18 October, till 17:00. The entry fee shall be 250 TL per yacht for IRC and IRC Charter divisions and 200 TL for IRC Duo Division. 6.
